Savanna Chestnut is among the artists to announce they auditioned for Season 20 of The Voice.
Here’s more about Savanna.
* She describes herself as a Kansas girl — born in the boondocks (Americus) — and a “trusted supplier of sarcasm and country music.”
* You could say she’s a prolific supplier of country music as well, with an EP and two albums already to her credit.
* Those include the the four-song “Trailer Park Queen” from 2015, the 10-song “Small Town Lies” from 2017 and the 11-track “Prairie Fire” from 2019. Check out the catchy title track from that latest album below.
* According to her web bio, Savanna started writing and performing music around age 13 and has performed throughout the midwest.
* She’s also opened for a number of big name country artists, including Tanya Tucker, Shenandoah and The Eli Young Band.
* Savanna was nominated as female vocalist of the year in the Rocky Mountain Music Awards in 2017 and 2018.
* She moved to Nashville when she was 19, according to an interview she did with 360DegreeSound in September, but wound up moving back to Kansas when she landed a record deal with a small label there.
* “And then that record label crashed after like three months of me being there,” she told the site. But she did start landing more gigs and has been doing music full time for the past two years.
* As for her sound, her web bio says she hopes to bring “the sweet, twangy sounds of old school country music … back to the modern country scene.”
Editor’s note: Season 20 of The Voice is scheduled to kick off Monday, March 1 on NBC.
