Here’s more about Wendy.
* She’s been in the music industry for 35 years and her self-titled debut album, an 11-song R&B / soul project, was released back in 1992.
* That said, she’s made Nashville her home for the past 23 years and has toured with Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride and Vince Gill during that time.
* In fact, Gill produced her latest album, “I’ve Got You Covered,” which came out last February. It includes eight covers of classic country songs originally released by the likes of George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Bobby Gentry and Dolly Parton.
* Gill is also featured on two tracks, Ernest Tubb’s “Driving Nails in My Coffin” and Linda Ronstadt’s “Faithless Love.”
* Wendy made her debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage in April 2019 and has since returned to that stage on multiple occasions. Below, check out a video of her performing “Driving Nails in My Coffin” on that stage earlier this year.
* She’s also a member of the Grammy award winning western swing band The Time Jumpers, which performs regularly at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville.
* Wendy also spent 15 years singing alongside Julio Inglesias. “He taught me a lot about being a great storyteller and communicator,” Wendy said in a recent interview, adding that she learned to sing in several languages while on tour with him.
* Wendy’s social media sites promote new music in 2021, but it’s yet to land.
* Asked for career advice in that same interview, Wendy says: “There is no competition. The competition is between you and yourself. There’s only one Whitney Houston, and I was never going to be like her. There’s only one Whitney and there’s only one me. You’re challenging yourself every day. You want to do great because “you” want to do great and you want to grow.”
