His audittion: Peedy Chavis, 19, of Lawrenceville, Ga., performed “Heartbreak Hotel” by Elvis Presley. He got quick chair turns from John Legend and Blake Shelton. Blake praised Peedy’s stage presence and said the performance fired him up. John said he turned because Peedy was singing his “butt off.” Peedy opted to join Team Blake.

More about Peedy:

* He says he was 4 years old when his mother showed him Elvis “and I was just infatuated.”

* So infatuated that he wound up with a white Elvis suit to wear while belting out Elvis tunes.

* And, according to his Voice bio, he dressed like Elvis for Halloween 10 years in a row.

* In high school, Peedy participated in musical theater and took part in theater competitions.

* He also started a band called 1255 that played all types of music — soul, funk, rock and roll and doow-op music.

* Peedy calls himself an “old soul who wants to be singing that music and bringing it back to the next generation” by putting his modern spin on it.
