Recent post-Voice county releases include an EP from Zach Bridges, a single from Angie K. and holiday songs from Holly Tucker and Curtis Grimes.
Here’s a bit more about each of those releases.
The links take you to the music on Apple Music.
* Zach Bridges from Season 17 received a five-song EP called “Mississippi Road” on Friday. “One of the cool things about this EP is that there is a little bit of everything when it comes to styles of songs,” Zach writes on Instagram. “There’s twangy chicken pickin’ country, there’s southern rock, country blues, and modern country.” And he could have added that it’s a high-energy project. That’s especially true of the opening two tracks, “”If Love Paid the Bills” and “Mississippi Road.” The EP marks Zach’s biggest project since the show.
* Angie K (Keilhauer) from Season 10 released the rowdy country single “Country is as Country Does” last week. It appears there will be a fun music video to accompany it as well. It follows “Sunset” as Angie’s second single of 2021. Meanwhile, “Happily Ever After,” the song Angie recorded with Jordan Fisher to accompany the fireworks show at Walt Disney World, is approaching 13 million streams on Spotify. The song was retired late last month. “This will always be one of the most incredible and beautiful projects I’ve ever worked on<" Angie wrote on Instagram, while encouraging fans to stay tuned for the new Disney entertainment show.
* Curtis Grimes from Season 1 and Holly Tucker from Season 4 are featured on a just-released, three-song holiday EP. Holly performs “With Bells On” with an assist from Darryl Worley. Curtis covers “Pretty Paper” with an assist from Doug Stone. Curtis and Holly are perennial nominees for Texas CMA Awards and 2021 is no exception. Holly is nominated as female vocalist of the year. Curtis, who won two Texas CMA awards in 2020 is nominated as country Christian artist of the year. They’ll also both be performing at a Halloween show on Oct. 30 at The Green Palace in South Caldwell, Texas.
