His audition: David Andrew, 25, of Gallatin, Tenn., performed “Falling” by Harry Styles. He showed off a great tone and range from the opening note. And it earned him chair turns from John Legend and Gwen Stefani. John said he loved the drama and soulfulness in David’s performance. Gwen called the end of the performance “mind-blowing.” David decided to join Team Legend.

* Born in Detroit and from Nashville, he’s a singer-songwriter who has already released music.

* In his web bio, he lists his musical influences as Tori Kelly, Jonathan McReynolds and Daniel Caesar.

* And he’s done extensive work as a background vocalist for the likes of Ed Sheeran, Kane Brown, Mickey Guyton, Tauren Wells and others.

* His Instagram posts include photos of David at the 2021 CMA Awards, where he was backing Guyton, and at the 2019 Elvis All Star Tribute, where he backed Sheeran.

* David has also appeared in the award-winning “The Mother Goose Club Playhouse.” on YouTube. It’s an educational nursery school program. Episodes featuring David have been viewed 12 million times, according to his Spotify bio.

* David attended Belmont University in Nashville and won the university’s Christian music showcase during his time there.

* As for his own music, he describes himself as a “pop and R&B independent artist and songwriter who blends a soulful urban sounds with personal and relatable lyrics.”

* He released an original Christian single, “There Will be Light,” in 2019.
