Here’s more about Morgan:
* She’s a singer-songwriter from Williamsport, Pa., now based in Nashville.
* In a 2018 interview, she told CMT her interest in music started at a very young age. “Since I was three years old, I’d sit down at the piano and just start singing and playing. I think it’s just always been in my soul … Music is my therapy, my passion and my happiness. It’s never wavered.”
* In her website bio, she says she grew up listening to Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi and admiring the songwriting of Eva Cassidy and Carole King.
* And for her 11th birthday, she attended a Whitney Houston concert. Says Morgan: “I was influenced by any woman that had a big voice because I wanted to be just like them. You name it – any diva – I was trying to imitate.”
* She spent a year studying music at Berklee, then wound up in Nashville, attending Belmont University.
* In 2016, after releasing a six-song debut EP called “Miss Morgan Myles,” Rolling Stone named her one of “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know.”
* That EP no longer appears to be available on streaming sites, but lots of other Morgan Myles’ music is. That includes “Acapella,” a 2018 single that’s her most popular to date with more than 500,000 streams on Spotify. It’s about eliminating negativity in your life, especially when it comes to relationships.
* More recently, Morgan released an impressive nine-song album called “Therapy” in 2020. Standout tracks include soulful ballads “Sanctuary” and “Therapy” and a fun kiss-off song called “Overserved.” Check out the music video for the magnificent “Sanctuary” below.
* She’s since released two more singles, “Contagious” and “Woman of My Word;” both dropped last year. The latter, her latest release, is a song she describes as one of the most vulnerable she’s ever written. “It helped me get through a dark time and I hope it resonates with anyone going through a similar experience. I hope this song allows anyone that is in a toxic isolated situation to stand up for themselves and move on to a better situation.”
* Morgan’s opened for a number of nationally known artists, including some of the better known Voice alumni, including Morgan Wallen and Texas Hill, the trio made up of Season 7 champ Craig Wayne Boyd, Season 10 runner-up Adam Wakefield and American Idol alum Casey James.
