American Idol returns to ABC on Sunday, Feb. 19 for its Season 21 premiere.
Here’s more about Brayden.
* He’s from Weyburn, Saskatchwan, in Canada and is now a full-time musician living in Edmonton, Alberta.
* Brayden’s also already released music to the tune of a pair of studio singles, including “Bad Night to be a Beer” from 2021 and a seven-song live album released in 2022.
* That live album includes four originals and three cover songs, including an impressive version of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall.”
* Brayden says he grew up on classic rock bands like ACDC, Guns and Roses, Led Zeppelin and describes his music as edgy country.
* The other covers on the album are “Cocaine Country Dancing” by Paul Cauthen and “The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie” by Colter Wall. Brayden says Tyler Childers and Chris Stapleton are influences as well.
* Bryden wrote the originals on the album, collaborating with David Henneberg and Kael Sauerborn on the album-opening “Down That Road.”
* He’s got plenty of performing experience too, playing more than 150 solo shows, according to his web bio.
* In an interview with SaskToday, Brayden says he’s “formed an addiction to performing live, so I have been playing anywhere that will have me.”
* He is a graduate of MacEwan University with a diploma in music career management.
* Brayden previously performed as front man for Weyburn rock cover band called Seventh Avenue.
* On Facebook, Brayden calls 2022 “simultaneously the best and worst year of my life.” The best because of career progress. The worst because his mother — he calls her his biggest fan — passed away. “This hasn’t been easy, but when mom got sick, she told me to not give up, and to keep chasing my dreams. That’s what I’ve been doing, and I swear we’re just getting started,” he writes.
