Darby (Anne Walker) released her debut EP in 2018, including Save a Thought for Me.

And like any fine artist, she put the story to music. The result: “Okay Baby … Until Tomorrow,” an impressive six-track EP she released in May.

“Save a Thought for Me” is the closing track, a song that manages to be bittersweet and hopeful all at once, yearning for an intense love lost while acknowledging it’s time to move on.

The little post-song celebration Darby decided to keep as part of the track is a nice touch too, a tribute to a perfect take and a brighter future.

Darby made it all the way to the Top 11 as a member of Team Miley Cyrus back on Season 11. She released a post-show single called “Don’t Wanna Stop” under her full name before shortening it to Darby for her latest release.

Darby turned 20 in October and celebrated by launching a Go Fund Me campaign that raised $500 to provide care kits to the homeless in the L.A. area.

This week, I’m featuring my favorites, spotlighting what I’m calling the Top 5 music videos, Top 20 songs and Top 5 albums/EPs.

I hesitate to call them the best because that’s very subjective. Besides, I easily could have made each of these lists five times as long and still omitted lots and lots of great music.

That’s why I grit my teeth when Marshmellow or Ann-Marie or even a coach or advisor winds up with a guest performance spot on The Voice. I’ll never understand why the show doesn’t do more to promote its alumni.

Ah, but this isn’t a time for griping. It’s time to celebrate the accomplishments of talented artists.
