Addison Agen has launched a Kickstarter to fund a post-Voice debut album.

Voice fans should certainly remember Addison Agen, the talented singer-songwriter who auditioned for the show at age 16 and wound finishing second to Chloe Kohanski in Season 13.

Turns out, Addison wrote and recorded a post-Voice album, then scrapped it.

The good news, she now has another album she’s ready to release.

And the Kickstarter campaign she launched to support it this week is off to a roaring start, raising more than $12,000 in a heartbeat.

Coming off The Voice, Addison says she returned to her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana, feeling “a little bit lost.”

“I was getting advice from every direction and it was overwhelming and I didn’t know what was right, so I did what I thought was right and went in to record a record … overall, I just wasn’t ready. It wasn’t the right time.”

She says she’s since rewritten “an entire new record that I love so much … There’s a lot of themes of bravery and hopefulness and joy throughout this record. And, of course, there’s some heartbreak songs and love songs.”

Having been a big fan of Addison’s pre-Voice “New Places” album — recorded when she was just 15 — I can’t wait to hear new music from the young songstress.
