On The Voice season premiere Monday night, Tamara Jade was the only artist to turn four chairs.

She opted to join Team John Legend.

On The Voice’s second show of Season 19, Cami Clune was the only singer to entice all four coaches to turn their chairs.

She decided to join Team John Legend as well.

Add John’s ability to land impressive show-closers John Holliday and Sid Kingsley, and you might say Mr. Legend is off to a blazing start on the new season of The Voice.

Here’s a recap of Tuesday’s show, with Voice Views’ picks for top performances of the night.

BEST OF THE NIGHT

The artist: Sid Kingsley, 37, Richmond, Va.
The song: “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” by Bob Dylan
Chair turns: His original sound prompted quick chair turns from John and Gwen. A big note got Blake to turn as well. John called it incredible, saying he heard soul and power in Sid’s voice. Gwen called his voice “shocking” and said he sounded like someone who’s made records forever. Blake liked his laid-back confidence.
His choice: Sid opted to join Team John.

RUNNERS-UP

The artist: Cami Clune, 20, Buffalo, N.Y.
The song: “Skinny Love” by Bon Iver
Chair turns: Kelly turned no sooner than Cami started singing, followed quickly by John and Gwen. Eventually Blake turns as well, only to discover he’s been blocked. John called her performance “mesmerizing.” Kelly said she sounded “ethereal” and “angelic.”
Her choice: Cami opts to join Team John.

The artist: Taryn Papa, 30, Nashville, Tenn.
The song: “Anyway” by Martina McBride
Chair turns: Taryn immediately launched into an impressive vocal, earning chair turns from Blake, Kelly and Gwen in turn. After displaying a big voice, she brought it back down for a tender opening. Blake blocked Kelly. Blake praised her powerful vocals.
Her choice: Taryn opts to join Team Blake.

ALSO MADE THE SHOW

The artist: Liam St. John, 29, Spokane, Wash.
The song: “Sex and Candy” by Marcy Playground
Chair turns: Liam was well into the song when his soulful stylings prompted chair turns from Blake and Gwen. Blake said there were apparently some “hearing problems,” considering only two coaches turned. Gwen said he “sounded incredible” and complimented him on a “rich” voice.
His choice: Liam opted to join Team Gwen.

The artist: Aaron Scott, 36, Tomah, Wisc.
The song: “Hemorrhage (in My Hands)” by Fuel
Chair turns: John turns within the first two lines of the song. Blake turned midway through the audition. John praised the energy and charisma Aaron displayed. Kelly noted that the competition has very few rock singers.
His choice: Aaron opted to join Team Blake.

The artist: Madeline Consoer, 24, Eagle River, Wisc.
The song: “Girl” by Maren Morris
Chair turns: Kelly turned midway through the performance. Surprisingly, she was the only coach to turn. I think Blake was afraid he’d be blocked. And he confirms that. John praised Madeline’s passion and power. And Kelly admits she would have blocked Blake. “I wasn’t about to lose a country artist,” she said.
Her choice: There was no choice, but Madeline seemed thrilled to be Team Kelly.

The artist: Ryan Gallagher, 31, Ada, Mich.
The song: “The Prayer” by Andrea Bocelli
Chair turns: Kelly was clearly enthralled from the performance from the word go, but waited to push. Blake turned at the last second. Kelly called his voice “magical” and said he’s truly unique in the competition. Blake suggests Ryan capitalize on the shock factor of joining Team Blake.
Her choice: Ryan decides to join Team Kelly.

The artist: Chloe Hogan, 20, Orlando, Fla.
The song: “What the World Needs Now” by Jackie DeShannon
Chair turns: Gwen turned two lines into the song. Chloe put her own twist on the song and was solid throughout, but Gwen wound up being the only chair turn. Gwen calls her “so cool” and like her “uniqueness.”
Her choice: Chloe automatically became a member of Team Gwen, but seemed quite content, proclaiming “I love Gwen so much.”

NO CHAIR TURNS

The artist: Faye Moffett, 35, Tulsa, Okla.
The song: “Anyone” by Demi Lovato
Chair turns: In a baffling development, no chairs turned in spite of an outstanding vocal. Maybe “nobody” was listening.

The artist: Palente Valente Johnson, 28, Eugene, Oregon
The song: “Crossroads”
Chair turns: Palente delivered a high-energy performance, but couldn’t prompt a chair turn, even with a big ending.

The artist: Kiari Mhoon, Fayetteville, N.C.
The song: “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes
Chair turns: He delivered a nice glory note in the portion of the audition we saw, but couldn’t entice a chair turn.
