Gabby Barrett, Maddie Poppe, Caleb Lee Hutchinson return home to warm welcomes

Gabby Barrett traveled back to Pittsburgh, Pa., Tuesday, where she sang with her childhood gospel choir and visited the Goodwill store where her father works (and where one of her American Idol outfits was being auctioned off for charity).

She also performed a Rivers Casino Amphitheater and appeared at the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game, singing “God Bless America” and throwing out the first pitch.

In Clarksville, Iowa, thousands turned out to great Maddie Poppe at a parade in her hometown. She then headed to the Butler County Fairgrounds where she performed a concert of her own.

Highlights included a performance with her father and a show-closing cover of “Me and Bobby McGee.”

And in Dallas, Ga., about 2,000 people attended a pep rally for Caleb Lee Hutchinson at South Paulding High School, where he graduated from last year.

Like Maddie and Gabby, he also enjoyed a homecoming parade and performed for his hometown fans.

Tuesday was homecoming day for the Top 3 on American Idol. By now, they’re heading back to L.A. to prepare for the first American Idol finale on ABC.

All three will perform on the show Sunday night. Results will be announced during a two-hour season finale on Monday.
