American Idol fans will have to wait another week to meet more cast members from Season 22.
With the Oscars airing on Sunday, we won’t see another audition episode of Idol until Sunday, March 17.
But it isn’t too early to check out which auditions from last week were the most popular, something I’ve been doing weekly since Season 22 began.
Turns out Kimi, the young man who fled Kosovo for a fresh start in the U.S., was the only singer to crack the 1 million mark as of Friday night.
Kimi, 25 and now based in Brooklyn, performed Tom Odell’s “Heal” for the judges. But it wasn’t until he sang a second song in his native language to his mother via Facetime that the judges rewarded him with a golden ticket.
The second and third most viewed auditions from Week 3 came from Max Dasher and Will Moseley, two singers I expect to do very well on Idol considering their singing style and the potential they flashed.
Max, 18, from Black Mountain, N.C., performed “Rock, Salt and Nails” by Utah Phillips. Will, 23, of Hazelhurst, Ga., sang an already released original called “Gone for Goo.”
Below is a complete list of YouTube views as of Friday night for artists we met on last Sunday’s show. Following the links will take you to a profile of each singer.
Next week, singers we’ll meet include several I’ve already profiled, including Alyssa Raghu, Anna Grace, Quintavious, Reagan Mills, Elleigh Marie, Athena Jett and Michael Rice.
