Cara Brindisi from The Voice Season 22

Her audition: Cara Brindisi, 34, of Worcester, Mass., sang “All Too Well” by Taylor Swift: Cara showed off her unique tone, prompting chair turns from Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani just as she hit the chorus. Blake liked the twang in her voice, but said she also has the vocal firepower to compete on the show. Gwen liked the heart in her performance. Cara opted to join Team Gwen.

Here’s more about Cara.

* She’s a New England-based singer-songwriter who has already released original music.

* Cara graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2011 with a degree in music therapy.

* And she’s been providing therapy to clients through music for the better part of a decade.

* It’s a line of work she was drawn to after seeing the impact music had on her grandfather, who had Alzheimer’s, she told the Telegram & Gazette in a 2019 interview.

* Cara’s a native of Shrewsbury, Mass., and got involved in music and made all-state choir in high school.

* She also started writing songs in high school. But she didn’t started performing regularly in bars and restaurants until her late 20s, she said in the same interview.

* Nevertheless, she’s opened shows for Chris Isaak, Tower of Power, Mitch Chakour and Adam Lambert.

* And she performs regularly at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, Chatham Bars Inn in Cape Cod, Mass., and The Landing in Newport, R.I., according to her website.

* That released music came in the form of a 2014 five-song EP called “Until Tomorrow” that she released in 2014 and a single called “Sunflowers in September” that she released in 2019.

* The latter stemmed from a month-long road trip she took in September 2018. “I drove around the country, just a girl and her dog, looking for nothing more than a few answers … I then spent 2019 writing and recording from the inspiration of that trip … really, of that era of my life. The only little tune that made it through was ‘Sunflowers In September’.” You can check it out below.

* Cara has been teasing several excellent new songs on her Instagram page, including “Lasso the Moon,” “Alone Together” and “Masquerade.”

* Meanwhile, you can head here to check out a full 40-minute concert Cara performing for the Healing Garden in 2021. I think you’ll be impressed.
