Her audition: Casme, 39, of New Orleans, La., auditioned with “Baby I Love You.”
A couple of impressive glory notes midway through the performance prompted a chair turn from John. He called it a beautiful, soulful rendition of the song and liked the positive energy she brought to the stage. Because John was the only coach to turn, Casme automatically became a member of Team John.

Here’s more about Casmé:

* On her website, Casmé describes herself as a singer-songwriter, entertainer and philanthropist who has traveled the world as a performer.

* She’s certainly released a good deal of music, including a “Gumbo” collection of songs from various genres in the 2015-2017 time frame.

* This year alone, Casmé has released a trio of singles — a pop song called “Daddy,” a fitness track called “Wake Up” and a gospel song called “Litd.” You can check out snippets below.

* A former background singer, she’s worked with a number of artists including Keith Urban, Trina Braxton and Season 2 American Idol standout Kimberly Locke.

* Born in New Orleans and based there now, she’s also lived in Nashville and Atlanta and has a handful of acting credits as Casme Barnes.

* In the past few years, you might say she’s branched out in a big way, according to her website. That includes publishing a book called “Daughter of the King 101” in 2015. She also released an album by the same name.

* “Daughters of the King 101” led to the formation of a DOTK Girls Club and a DOTK House as well. The latter was designed as a safe place for young girls to attend after school in Algiers, Louisiana.

* She’s even launched her own clothing collections — DOTK collection and cazzybrand. Among the items you’ll find at the latter, $10 face masks perfect for the pandemic.
