Chloé Hogan, a contestant on The Voice Season 19.

Her audition: Chloe Hogan, 20, of Orlando, Fla., performed “What the World Needs Now” by Jackie DeShannon. Gwen turned two lines into the song. Chloe put her own twist on it and was solid throughout, but Gwen wound up being the only chair turn. Gwen called her “so cool” and said she likes her “uniqueness.” Chloe automatically became a member of Team Gwen, but seemed quite content, proclaiming “I love Gwen so much.”

Here’s more about Chloé:

* She’s an R&B and neo-soul singer-songwriter who has been studying music at Belmont University in Nashville.

* She released her first two singles in 2019, “Why” and “Lips Like Cherry Wine.” You can check out snippets of both below.

* The latter was one of three songs she performed at the first-ever Belmont Urban Showcase in October 2019. Chloé won that showcase.

* That would have earned her a spot in Belmont’s annual Best of the Best concert. But it was canceled because of the pandemic.

* In an interview with Belmont Vision, Chloé took that news in stride, saying it made her more thankful for the opportunity presented by the Urban Showcase.

* “God knows what he’s doing during this time, and His plan is greater than anything we could have wished for,” she added when speaking to the site.

* In her Spotify profile, Chloé says she thinks the dichotomy of her uplifting and groovy melodies and her oft melancholy lyrics help set her music apart.

* As for her philosophy toward music, she writes this: “Everything that we write, create and share is something that comes from our souls … It’s our heart and soul that we ask people to listen to. So music without heart is just a bunch of noise … And we don’t make noise. We make music.”
