Dimitrius Graham auditioned for American Idol Season 17.
Dimitrius Graham will be delivering them on American Idol Season 17.
He’s one of the singers who announced he auditioned for the show. Season 17 kicks off Sunday, March 3, on ABC.
Here’s more about Dimitrius.
* He attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, majoring in music.
* At some point, he relocated to the Brooklyn, New York, area.
* He’s been a regular performer at the Apollo Theater in New York. There are three videos on YouTube of him placing first in the amateur night competition from 2016 alone.
* Dimitrius also apparently did some modeling work for the L. Owens Apparel clothing line.
* He’s recorded music there as Meech. He has four originals on his Soundcloud page, including “Right Feel, Wrong Time, which you can check out below.
* He apparently developed a sizable fan base in the process. He already has more than 13,000 followers on Instagram and refers to his followers as #meechigang. He’s already been asking them to support his Idol effort.
* His family apparently went through a rough stretch three to four years ago when his mother became ill. “We lost the house, the car. You name it, we lost it,” Dimitrius writes on Instagram. “I was depressed, confused, didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. But in spite of how I felt and what my situation looked like, I never stopped trusting in God and today, the only thing I can say is TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

I am so, so sad that Demetrius is out. Not only is he an awesome vocalist, he seems like such a genuinely wonderful person. His Momma should be so proud of him!! Can’t wait to see him on tour!
