Her audition: Injoy Fountain, 29, of Wichita, Kansas auditioned with “7 Rings” by Ariana Grande. The arrangement threw the coaches off a bit. But Injoy was a bundle of energy on stage, showing off a big voice, an ability to rap and tons of personality. And that was enough to prompt chair turns from Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani. Gwen liked her “bold” song choice and her ability to mix styles. Kelly called the performance infectious. Injoy decided to join Team Kelly.

Here’s more about Injoy.

* On Instagram, she calls herself the “supermom that sings” and CEO of Injoy Fountain Productionz, which appears to offer vocal training and theater experience.

* Injoy grew up in Wichita, Kansas, raised by a woman named Pat Smith, who attended her audition. Injoy explained that her biological mother had her at age 16, too young to raise her.

* Injoy discovered her passion for performing when she got involved in musical theater there. And after high school, she auditioned for “Rent,” landed the role of “bag lady” and toured Scotland for a month.

* She’s a 2010 graduate of New York’s American Musical and Dramatic Academy and spent most of her performance career living in New York.

* In addition to racking up a number of theatrical credits there, she sang in bands formed by actor Jaime Cepero and actress Condola Rashad.

* In 2014, she won the Broadway Karaoke Idol competition.

* In 2016, she was part of the East Village cast for “The Astronaut Love Show” and has two solos on the cast album for that production.

* A year ago, she released a cover of “Amazing Grace” with producer Scott Bradlee of Postmodern Jukebox fame. You can check that out below.

* Injoy auditioned for American Idol in 2018 — she was 28 at the time — but couldn’t entice Katy Perry or Lionel Richie to send her to Hollywood despite getting a yes from Luke Bryan.

* Among the songs she covered during her Idol audition were “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles and Katy’s “I Kissed a Girl.”

* She moved to Los Angeles for a while but was putting on a show in Wichita — “Yellow Brick Road to Broadway” — earlier this year.
