Jared Draheim is one of the singers who auditioned for Season 15 of The Voice.
His reaction: “Patience is a virtue, because it’s a long process and you can’t get discouraged if they tell you no, because a lot of people were told no.
“(One-time Idol contestant) Tori Kelly was told no, and now she’s one of the biggest pop stars in the world,” Jared added in an interview a year ago with the West Orange Times & Observer.
We’ll soon find out if the third time proved a charm for Jared. He’s among the singers who auditioned for The Voice Season 15, which kicks off Monday, Sept. 24, on ABC.
Here’s more about Jared:
* He was born HIV-positive, adopted and raised in Ocoee, Fla., in the Orlando area.
* He first picked up a guitar at age 11 and was playing regularly by age 14, according to his bio on Two B Entertainment.
* Jared discovered his love of singing while leading worship in church.
* He describes himself as a singer-songwriter whose music incorporates influences of soul, funk and rock.
* Jared told his hometown newspaper that his musical inspirations include Allen Stone, Tori Kelly, James Bay, Shawn Mendes and Jacob Whitesides.
* He released his debut single, “Black Dress, White Lie,” in early 2016 at age 19. By the end of the year, he’d followed up with “Songs from the Soul,” his five-song debut EP.
* Jared’s Idol audition was for the recently completed Season 16.
