Kenzie Wheeler is among the artists to announce that they auditioned for Season 20 of The Voice.

Here’s more about Kenzie.

* He’s a 22-year-old country singer from Dover, Fla.

* He released a debut album, called “Dover”, and featuring 10 songs in 2018. Check out the country rocker “Get Down in the South” below.

* Kenzie participated in chorus in school, but told Tampa’s Plant City Observer that it was a karaoke performance at the local Uncle Mike’s Smokehouse Grill as a high school freshman that launched his pursuit of country music.

* He performed Gary Allan’s “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful,” got a good reaction from the audience and eventually became a regular showcase performer at the restaurant.

* In 2016, he won the Tampa Teen Idol competition with a performance of Chris Janson’s “Buy Me a Boat.”

* At the time, he said his idol was George Strait. At the time, he told the Plant City newspaper: ““I like a lot of older country music. Older country music has more of a country music feel. Some new stuff sounds too pop-y. That’s just my opinion.”

* His first two singles were “Talk to You” in 2014 and ”Just Once in A While” — a song written by his grandmother — in 2015. Neither appear to be available now.

* Kenzie’s Voice audition song was “Don’t Close Your Eyes” by Keith Whitley, and here’s a video of him covering that song.

Editor’s note: Season 20 of The Voice is scheduled to kick off Monday, March 1 on NBC.
