Zoe Levert Turner of The Voice Season 25

Zoe Levert Turner of The Voice Season 25

Her audition: Zoe Levert, 20, of New Orleans, La., performed “Better Man” by Taylor Swift. She opened tenderly, but her vocals swell as she reaches the chorus. Zoe displayed a nice break in her voice near the end. And she she got a last-second chair turn from John. Dan of Dan + Shay complimented her on a nice performance. Oh, and isn’t this neat? Zoe’s first-dance song for her wedding is Dan + Shay’s “From the Ground Up.” So Dan + Shaw took the stage and perform a bit of the song as Zoe and her fiance Ryan dance. John complimented her on her higher range and a tone that’s “so clear.” Since no one else turned, Zoe automatically became Team Legend.

Here’s more about Zoe:

* Zoe describes herself this way on social media: “I like to write songs and buys plants.” She hasn’t yet released any of those songs.

* You’ll find most of her music on TikTok, where she’s amassed quite a following. To the tune of 114,000 followers and 2.2 million likes.

* She’s heavily involved in worship service, including at her home church, Abundant Life Church in Denham Springs, La.

* And while, she was using the name Zoe Levert when she auditioned for Season 25, she’s now Zoe Levert Turner. The marriage to Ryan Turner that she talked about when her audition was filmed last summer occurred in early January.

* She describes Ryan as “the cool guitar player guy I met at my first la music majors meeting” at Leavell College, part of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

* Zoe is majoring in psychology, with a minor in music.

* Her dad is a pastor; her mother is a counselor. Their jobs caused the family to move quite a bit while Zoe was growing up. She’s was born in Odenton, Md.

* Musically, she’s clearly a big fan of Taylor Swift. Her two pinned posts to TikTok are versions of “Cardigan.” And her lone video on YouTube is a cover of “Champagne Problems,” rewritten from the perspective of the rejected male. She told The Voice that Taylor’s album “Folklore” was a major inspiration.

* You can check out one of Zoe’s originals below. Sad songs are apparently her specialty. In a post after an acoustic show at an oyster bar in Baton Rouge, Zoe humorously notes: “Did 7 songs, 5 of them were sad. Progress.”
