Recent post-Voice releases include singles from Presley Tennant and Taryn Papa and a duet featuring Ashland Craft.
Here’s a bit more about each of those releases. The links take you to the songs on Apple Music.
Presley Tennant from Season 16 has a new single out called “Break My Heart.” It’s a song she co-wrote with Bobby McLamb and Nick Autry. Presley, 20, told People: “It’s about that feeling of wanting to be with somebody and being willing to put everything into it. And even if there is a chance that that person could break your heart over and over again, you still want to have that opportunity to be with them.” It’s Presley third single of the year, following “Gamble on You” and a lovely cover of Zach Bryan’s “Something in Orange.”
Taryn Papa from Season 19 is back with a new single called “Persuaded.” But it’s one of her older songs. Taryn told Country Note it stemmed from her first official songwriting session after moving to Nashville back in 2013-14 timeframe. She wrote the song with the late Randall Clay and A.J Engstrom as Randall kept peppering her with questions about whether she’d ever done anything she didn’t set out to do. The song marks the fourth single of 2022 for Taryn, who also recently collaborated with former Voice finalist Josh Gallagher on a cover of Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy.”
Ashland Craft , a Season 13 standout, is featured on the latest single from Slade Coulter, “Lesson I Ain’t Learned.” Ashland’s also out on her Young Blood tour, which runs through the middle of October and also features Marcus King. The release is the first featuring Ashland in 2022. The former Voice standout released her debut album, “Travelin’ Kind,” last September.
