Grace Askew from The Voice Season 12

* Grace Askew from Season 12 has released “Cowgirl with a Dream,” a song that went viral on TikTok when she initially posted it there. Grace has been posting a series of songs written to incorporate 10 words provided by a follower. She said she wrote “Cowgirl with a Dream” in about 30 minutes on a Monday night “after a long, exhausting day,” posted it to the site and went to bed. The next morning she woke to a text from her brother about how well the song had gone over. So she quickly recorded an acoustic version and, presto, the song is on streaming sites.

* Courtnie Ramirez from Season 11 has released a Christian single called “Walls.” It’s Courtnie’s first release of 2022. She wrote the song with Edgar Aguilar and Brent Loper. Says Courtnie: “I feel like I’m the closest to my artistry I’ve ever been.” Added Brent: We “really went deep internally to write this song, and subsequently probably tore down some of our own walls in the process. Courtnie did an amazing job of delivering and communicating this lyric.”
