I use the “if” because Catie Turner was once the social media darling on American Idol. She was eliminated on Top 7 night.
And Cade Foehner had strong social media support. He failed to make the finals.
In Gabby’s case, she had a large Facebook following before her run on American Idol even began.
She now leads the show’s Top 3 in support on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Perhaps more importantly, she’s gained the most support on social media since the Top 3 were announced, picking up 55,000 followers on Instagram alone.
The Top 3 take the stage tonight at 8 p.m., each performing a trio of songs. Overnight voting also returns, meaning fans have until 9 a.m. eastern time Monday to support their favorite.
