Song by song playoff grades for Team Blake

At least two singers from Team Blake Shelton will advance on The Voice this week.

One will advance based on fan voting following Monday’s show. One will advance via Blake’s save on Tuesday.

Here’s a look at his team’s performances from Monday night.

Ian Flanigan, “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan — This was just about the perfect song choice for Ian’s unique, raspy vocals. And he made it work. Voice viewers love country guys toting guitars, and it’s going to be very interesting to see whether they gravitate toward Ian or Jim. And if Blake would dare take both into next week. Grade: B

Jim Ranger, “Rumor” by Lee Brice — Jim’s vocals aren’t as unique as Ian’s, but he has a certain contagious energy on stage, and he certainly delivered this with conviction. The a cappella part near the end was a nice twist and I won’t be at all shocked if Jim emerges as the vote leader this week. He’s put together a string of impressive performances. Grade: B+

Sid Kingsley, “Beyond” by Leon Bridges — The only non-country performance from Team Blake Monday night was also the best from Team Blake. Come on, Blake fans. Sid showed off plenty of grit in his voice. And his song choice wasn’t that far from country. Besides a performance that impressive deserves to be rewarded. Grade: A–

Worth the Wait, “Love Is Alive” by The Judds — This trio of two daughters and a mom served up some nice harmonies again. But the solo parts left something to be desired and that ending was … well, a little rough. And the performance wasn’t nearly as good as their knockout round rendition of “Delta Dawn.” Grade: C+

Taryn Papa, “I Hope You’re Happy Now” by Carly Pearce and Lee Brice — Taryn won the four-way knockout over Ryan Gallagher (Team Kelly), Larriah Jackson (Team Gwen) and Julia Cooper (Team Legend). Then she stepped on stage and delivered the best female country vocal of the note. Very nice performance, but she remains a long shot to advance. Grade: B+

Who deserves to advance? Sid and Jim
