Season 4 of The Voice begins Monday night at 8 p.m. on NBC. Check back for live blogs during each show and for bios of the contestants who land a spot in the competition.
Meanwhile, it’s time to catch up with some familiar faces who have new music, including a Season 3 Team Christina member, Celica Westbrook.
Before The Voice: An Erie, Pa., native who now lives in Franklin, Tenn., Celica was just 16 when she auditioned for The Voice, but already had four songs on iTunes, had a bit part in a Hannah Montana movie and had appeared in videos by country artist Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and Craig Morgan. She’d also competed on CMT’s “Can You Duet” with her mother. Celica told The Voice she was close to a record deal and being part of a Justin Bieber tour at age 14 before the deal fell apart.
On The Voice: All three judges who hadn’t filled their teams turned around when she auditioned with “A Thousands Years.” She defeated Lisa Scinta in a battle round that was not shown on TV. She was defeated in the knockout round by eventual Top 12 finisher Adriana Louise, despite an impressive version of Bieber’s “Never Say Never.”
Since The Voice: Celica released a single called “Found and Completed” to iTunes earlier this month. It’s a song inspired by the Twilight series, written by her parents, and she sounds great on it. She also made a video for the song, which you can check out below, along with another of her originals. She recently told The Williamson Source that she’s working on an EP she hopes to release later this year. She also released a holiday single (“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”) back in December and performed two weeks ago at a United Way benefit in Williamson County, Tenn.
