Joei Fulco made it all the way to the Top 17 on Season 18 of The Voice and is promising fans new music in the “very near future.”

Joei, from Lancaster, Calif., was 22 when she auditioned for the show, but had been performing for years with the Fulco Family Band and with her brother as The Fulco Experience.

She turned two chairs with her blind audition cover of “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves” by Cher, a performance that impressed Blake Shelton so much he used his only block to ensure Joei landed on his team.

She didn’t disappoint, advancing through the battle and knockout rounds to make it to the playoffs, which became an at-home performance because of the pandemic.

Here’s what Joei told Voice Views about her Voice experience.

Voice Views: What do you consider your biggest takeaway / lesson learned from The Voice experience?

Joei: I have learned so much during this entire experience, but I think the biggest lesson learned is to take the ups and downs of an experience and use them to mold you into a better artist. I have grown so much as an artist from this experience and I am blessed to have this in my life.

Voice Views: Which was your favorite Voice performance and why?

Joei: My favorite Voice performance has to be my Knockout Round performance of “When Will I Be Loved” because I had so much fun onstage! I enjoyed every second of this performance and felt very “in the moment.” I was also contacted by Peter Asher, who produced the song, and it was a dream come true!

Voice Views: What the experience like, doing a performance from your home for the show and for national TV?

Joei: Performing from home is definitely an insane experience. I’m so used to performing in front of an audience so having to redirect my energy in a different way was and interesting experience.

Voice Views: I realize much is in limbo now because of the pandemic, but what are your post-Voice plans musically?

Joei: My post-Voice plans are to write and record some new material and get out on the road touring and sharing my music with everyone!

Voice Views: Do you have plans to release new music? If so, what can you tell us about that? Sound? Timing? Etc?

Joei: I definitely have new music that I am excited to release! I have been recording some demos at home and I am planning on releasing some new music in the very near future!

Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about The Voice experience?

Joei: I just want to say what an amazing and professional production this is. It has been the most amazing experience of my life and I can’t thank the show and everyone who works for the show enough for allowing me this opportunity!
