Payton Lamar, a contestant on The Voice Season 19.

Her audition: Payton Lamar, 23, of Nashville, Tenn., auditioned with “Never Alone” by Tori Kelly and Kirk Franklin. Blake turned late in the performance. And he wound up being the only coach to turn, though Payton showed off a big voice. He said he loves the fact that she’s a female pop artist because there aren’t any other singers like her on her team.

Here’s more about Payton:

* She’s a native of Jacksonville and now based in Nashville.

* But she’s also spent time abroad, performing in Paris and London.

* In August 2018, she and her husband Matt posted a video to YouTube announcing their move to France.

* Matt was planning to play with an FFBA basketball team and record with Dorhema Music, a Christian music streaming service.

* Payton toured with Dorhema Music, according to her website bio. She also opened for CalledOut Music, an artist based in England, at a show in London.

* On Facebook, Payton describes herself as a pop singer-songwriter who sings and writes songs “while overeating colorful peanut M&M’s.”

* Payton collaborated with London-based YouTube Producer Shaun Reynolds for an acoustic cover of Katy Perry’s “Daisis,” which was released in May. You can check it out below.

* Payton’s web bio says she’s awaiting the release of her own debut single. In the meantime, you can check out dozens of other covers on her YouTube channel.
