The second week of live Cross Battles will be featured tonight on The Voice, and the stakes are a bit higher for the 16 remaining contestants.

That’s because five of the saves and steals available during this round were used during last week’s results show.

The result: Three singers went home last week. That means five of the 16 singers who perform tonight will be eliminated on Tuesday (note change in time for the results show).

What do we have to look forward to this week …

* Blake Shelton is the only coach with a steal left. Kelly Clarkson and John Legend still have the ability to save a defeated contestant. Adam Levine is the only coach to use his steal and save.

* Three four-chair turns have yet to perform in this round, including Jej Vinson of Team Kelly, L.B. Crew of Team Adam and Shawn Sounds of Team Legend.

* This week will mark the return to the stage for The Bundys, the first trio to ever make The Voice. You’re forgiven if you’d forgotten. It’s been a month since we’ve heard them sing.

* Blake Shelton is the only coach yet to lose a singer. His singers won three of four cross battles last week and he saved Selkii.

* On the other side of the coin, there’s Adam Levine. His singers lost four of five battles last week. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s as eager to be challenged tonight.

It’ll be interesting to see if those two trends continue — or if The Voice will allow it to continue. This show seems more coach-focused than ever, and it’s not likely Carson and company will allow one of the four to be embarrassed via the new format.
