The Voice will continue picking the Top 20 for next week’s playoffs Monday and Tuesday night, when the knockout round concludes.
Will there be a Top 24 in the playoffs?
The show hasn’t announced that yet. But in recent seasons, there’s been a Top 24 featuring 20 singers who survived the knockouts plus four who were either saved or selected as comeback artists by their coaches.
Meanwhile, remember that eight singers turned four chairs during the blind auditions, making them immediate front-runners on Season 17.
Two — Brennan Lassister and Mendeleyev — has since been eliminated. Three — Ricky Duran, Katie Kadan and Khalea Lynee — have already sealed spots in the playoffs.
That leaves three to perform this week — Preston Howell, Shane Q and Marybeth Byrd. And, for some reason, John Legend will apparently pit Marybeth and Preston against once another.
The other thing to remember is that only two saves remain headed into the Monday and Tuesday night shows. John and Blake Shelton hold those.
Gwen Stefani used her save to rescue young Joana Martinez of Team Blake. Kelly Clarkson used her save to snatch up Max Boyle from Team Legend.
Here’s a look at where all the teams stand and the knockouts that haven’t aired yet. The links take you to a profile on the artist or an exit interview. The number in parenthesis indicates the number of chairs the singer turned in the blinds.
