During Sunday’s final audition show for Season 21 of American Idol, there was mention that Tongi’s audition had gone viral on YouTube.

American Idol producers weren’t exaggerating.

His audition has been viewed 11 million times on YouTube alone. That’s 8 million more times than anyone else who auditioned for Season 21.

For those who might not remember, Tongi — real named William Guy Tongi — is 18, from Hawaii and auditioned with “Monsters” by James Blunt.

He dedicated the performance to his father Rodney, his musical inspiration, who passed away in late 2021.

Who else have fans resonated with based on their auditions?

Well, below I’ve listed the contestants with more than 1 million views on their YouTube auditions.

Then I’ve added two former contestants from The Voice — Megan Danielle and Marybeth Byrd — and the singers who were in the running for America’s Platinum ticket — Elijah McCormick (who received it), Haven Madison and Matt Wilson.

Remember, Cam Amen, Tyson Venegas and Kaylin Hedges were the other recipients of golden tickets, allowing them to sit out the opening round of Hollywood Week, which airs Sunday.

The second most popular audition on YouTube to date features Trey Louis, survivor of a school shooting at Sante Fe High School back in 2019.
