American Idol will introduce us to a new set of Hollywood bound contestants tonight when it airs its second audition episode.
The show has already leaked the auditions of two contestants — Kay Genyse, a 19-year-old from High Point, N.C.; and Jovin Webb, a 28-year-old lead singer from Gonzalez, La.
Idol judge Katy Perry winds up leading Kay out of the audition room and into the streets to prove she deserves a golden ticket.
That proves easier for Jovin, who brings the judges to their feet with a passionate, bluesy rendition of “The Whipping Post.”
Based on photos released by the show, other contestants we’ll meet Sunday include Claire Jolie Goodman, Curt Jones, Hannah Pestridge, Cyniah Elise, Eliza Catastrophe, Jimmy Levy, Julie Gargano, Kyle Tanguay, Sarah Isen, Margie Mays and Jonny West.
Margie and Jonny are girlfriend and boyfriend. Hannah and Curt are husband and wife and perform together as Treble Soul. Eliza Castastrophe is the stage name for Spokane, Washington, based alternative artist Eliza Johnson, who has already released an EP and album under that stage name. And, yep, her original “Sardines” that she’ll perform for the judges is available for streaming.
Remember last week we were introduced to eight Hollywood bound artists, including Doug Kiker, Camryn Leigh Smith, Francisco Martin, Nick Merico, Arthur Gunn, Louis Knight, Meghan Fitton and Just Sam.
