American Idol introduced us to a dozen Hollywood-bound contestants last week.

This week, among the singers we’ll meet are …

Faith Becnel, who released a debut album when she was 12;

Jimmy Levy, who has more than 3 million streams of a song on Spotify;

Sophia Wackerman, a UCLA student and a cappella standout;

and Makayla Phillips, who earned a golden buzzer on America’s Got Talent a couple of years back.

The show has already leaked Sophia’s audition. Let’s just say she impresses the judges with her performance of “Water” by Bishop Briggs.

And earned a golden ticket in honor of her late mother, professional singer Naomi Star; they used to watch Idol together.
