Idol Chatter & Voice Views

At the end of Sunday’s episode, American Idol announced a special sixth audition show which will air this Sunday.

That show will follow the Oscars and, in my area, an abbreviated version of the local news.

It’s scheduled to run from 11:35 p.m. to 12:35 a.m. here in south central Pennsylvania.

And it won’t be a recap of audtions we’ve already seen, but an introduction to all new Season 20 contenders.

Based on photos ABC has already released from the pre-taped show, it’s chock full of talent, including four artists rumored to have advanced to the Top 24.

Artists to be featured in the episode include Sage, Yoli Mayor, Isreal McFarland, Scarlet Aliz, Danielle Clavell, Brooks Kidd, Ave Maybee, Katyrah Love and Maurice.

Yoli, Katyrah and Ava have already released music. In fact, Ava released a new single Friday called “Mood Swings.”

She also has one of the most interesting backstories of the singers we’ll meet Sunday since she’s the daughter of Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

Even after Sunday’s show, there will be lots of talented Hollywood-bound singers we haven’t met, many of whom already have excellent music out.

In fact, Idol seemed to showcase less experienced singers during the aired auditions — the ones they called moldable — as opposed to some of the more seasoned artists.
