HunterGirl from American Idol Season 20

Idol Season 20 will kick off on ABC on Sunday, Feb. 27. Here’s more about HunterGirl.

* Her name is Hunter Wolkonowski. She’s 23 and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where she is studied music business.

* She’s released one single so far, a 2018 country song called “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore.”

* But she was also featured on “Tin Soldier,” a song released in November by Mark Addison Chandler. Former Voice finalist Josh Gallagher was a co-writer on that song. Check it out below.

* She also recently performed her first round at the Listening Room in Nashville. She was invited to join Chandler, Gallagher and John Goody on stage when another singer bowed out.

* Writes Hunter on Instagram: “My happy place is on stage sharing stories with strangers hoping that someone out there may feel the same way I do.”

* Hunter is from Winchester, Tenn., where she started singing in her grandfather’s church at age 3 and started writing songs at age 9.

* She won the won the Texaco Country Showdown in 2014 at age 15, then moved to Nashville after graduating high school.

* According to her website, she’s won several songwriting contests, including the Nashville Songwriter Association International competition two years in a row.

* She’s also opened for a number of well-known country artists, including Old Dominion, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Alan Jackson, Trace Adkins, Charlie Daniels and Sara Evans.

* Judging from her social media pages, she has new music ready to release. But Hunter hasn’t announced a timetable for doing that. “So much music coming your way soon,” she wrote in August.
