Paige Fish from American Idol Season 20

American Idol returns to ABC on Sunday, Feb. 27. Here’s more about Paige.

* She’s a 15-year-old singer-songwriter from Springville, Utah, who will turn 16 shortly after the season begins.

* You might say she’s been singing for a while. Her father posted a video to YouTube nine years ago of a very young Paige singing the national anthem at a minor league baseball game.

* And in spite of her young age, she’s released a good deal of music, beginning with a 2019 single called “Winter” that now has nearly 200,000 streams on Spotify.

* She’s released five singles since, including “Crooked Lines” in late 2020. She said the song of hope was written during the pandemic in response to a news alert about teenage suicide rates spiking around the country.

* She also opened for the Ofi band at a September show hosted by the Life’s Worth Living Foundation in conjunction with Suicide Awareness Month.

* Paige says her latest single, “Rain,” released in August, is “about missing someone’s voice.” It features a vocal assist from Mason Murphy, who also produced the track. Writes Paige: “Mason and I have gone from silly performances at neighborhood parties, to him becoming my producer!! Life has been so cool.”

* Her Spotify profile describes her as a “Utah girl sharing her feels through music one day at a time.” Check out “Rain” below.
