The most interesting Billboard music chart in a while comes out later this week.

That’s when we’ll find out where the new albums from David Archuleta and Crystal Bowersox land.

Casey Abrams returned to the American Idol stage two weeks ago. (FOX Photo)They’ll be the first new Idol albums on the chart since Colton Dixon released “A Messenger” in late January.

In the meantime …

* The American Idol bounce worked for Casey Abrams, who performed on the show two weeks ago and saw his 2012 album resurface on the Billboard 200 at number 131. Not bad considering it debuted at 101 after it was released. It deserved better.

* The Idol bounce doesn’t appear to have lasted long for Jessica Sanchez and her new single “Tonight.” As of Tuesday morning, you won’t find the song among the top 200 singles on iTunes.

* We’ll also find out later this week how much the Idol bounce does for Colton Dixon. He performed on Idol last week when his latest single (“You Are”) reached a new peak of number 11 on the Christian singles chart. His album is also sitting at number 11 on the chart.

This week, we’ll get to see two more former Idols appear on the Thursday night results show, when Carrie Underwood and Casey James perform their new singles.

Here’s the complete chart rundown.
