Ameera DelandroSummer is drawing to a close, but there’s always time for another fun summertime song.

And that’s what Ameera Delandro has served up with her first post-Voice single.

The 27-year-old folk-soul artist added a touch of pop and dance for “69 Camaro,” released in late August.

Ameera, a Season 8 contestant on The Voice, said she’s always wanted to add other elements to her sound and got to do that when working on the single with producer N. Le Guierre.

“I wanted an eclectic, but also upbeat feel good, free song that could appeal to the masses … ‘69 Camaro’ was a great fit,” she said.

And we’re about to get more music from Ameera. The song is from a six-track EP called “Life on a String” that she plans to release in the fall.

“’Life on a String’ is a play on words being that I am a guitarist, which is where all my songs are mostly written,” she said. “But also the deeper meaning is that, throughout my journey as a musician and person, there have been many obstacles and lessons learned to pursuing and living my passion. Thus the term ‘Life on a String.’”

Ameera, who lives in Richmond, Va., landed a spot on Team Christina when she performed “I’d Rather Go Blind” during the blind auditions for Season 8.

She made it to the battle round before losing a match-up against Sonic, an eventual Top 20 finisher. They sang Jessie J’s
“Masterpiece.”
