Audra McLaughlin BoomerangTalk about a pleasant new music surprise.

Audra McLaughlin, a Top 8 finisher on Season 6 of The Voice, has released an incredibly addictive new country single called “Boomerang.”

It’s the first release for the gal from Philly since her debut EP landed in April 2016. And it’s easily her most radio ready song yet.

Audra talked about the new single during a Facebook chat with fans earlier this week.

“That song to me, the first time I ever heard it, I knew I had to record it,” she said.

“I’ve been in a relationship in the past where I kept kind of going back to the guy and kept going back. Everybody around me — my family, my friends — were like, ‘He’s no good for you. You deserve better.’ And I kept saying, ‘No. It’s cool.’

“It’s just how we are. We’ve all been in that situation. When I heard ‘Boomerang,’ — that’s something I’ve been through. I hope a lot of you guys can relate and it helps you move on from that person that’s holding you back.”

The music video for “Boomerang” will be out soon. Audra said it’s the music video really helped bring the song to life.

Oh, and here’s another interesting Voice tidbit. The cover shot for the single was photographed by Manny Cabo, a contestant on Season 9.

Want to catch Audra live?

There are plenty of opportunities coming up for Pennyslvania fans, beginning with an Aug. 4 show at the 39 North Bar & Grill in Glenolden, a suburb of Philly.

You can check out all the upcoming tour dates on Audra’s Facebook page. You can also keep up with her through her website. On Twitter, she’s @AudraLynn21.
