Aliyah Moulden of The Voice Season 12.Aliyah Moulden’s breakthrough came just two weeks ago, when she delivered an emotional performance of “Jealous” by Labrinth.

She dedicated the performance to the father she never knew — he died when she was about a month old — and wound up breaking down in tears before it ended.

Still, the song landed in the Top 20 on iTunes; Aliyah had never finished in the Top 50 prior to that, and she followed it up with a Top 10 performance in the semifinals last week.

Just 15, Aliyah turned three chairs with her blind audition performance of “Hound Dog” and opted to pass over a chance to work with Gwen Stefani or Alicia Keys to join Team Blake Shelton.

Afterwards, Aliyah said she felt an instant connection to the country singer. A longtime fan of The Voice, she admitted she was also aware of his success on the show.

As for her dad, he was a drummer, and Aliyah says she’s convinced she inherited a lot of her musical ability from him.

Here’s a look at Aliyah’s performances from The Voice.
