As a 15-year-old on Season 14 of American Idol, Daniel Seavey sometimes appeared in over his head.

He’s now embarked on a new endeavor, as a member of a five-guy boy band called Why Don’t We.

The band also includes Jack Avery, Corbyn Besson, Jonah Marais, and Zach Herron, and they’ve been quite busy this fall.

Since forming in late September, Why Don’t We has released a pair of singles — “Taking You” and “Nobody Gotta Know” and music videos for both songs.

And they just released a six-track debut EP called “Only the Beginning” and an original Christmas song, “You and Me at Christmas.”

Says Daniel, now 17, on Twitter: “We may have only been a band for two months, but I put the last 10 years of my life into this.”

Next up for the band: Their first two lives shows, set for Dec. 2 in Philly and Dec. 4 in New York.

The Philly show is at the Voltage Lounge. Tickets range from $15 to $79 depending on whether or not you want to participate in a pre-show meet-and-greet.

You can follow Why Don’t We through their Facebook page and website.

Daniel finished ninth on American Idol. He’s also the featured vocalist on a pair of covers from fellow Idol contestant Lovey James — “Secret Love Song” and “See You Again.”
