After The Voice, The Four

Jason Warrior survives another week on The Four

Former Voice contestant Jason Warrior survived another week on FOX’s The Four Thursday night, but the same can’t be said for the show’s previous front-runner.

In fact, two members of the four lost their seats Thursday night as Nick Harrison defeated Rell Jerve and Kendyle Paige won a challenge over Zhavia that left judge Meghan Trainor in tears.

As for Jason, he faced a challenge from Ravaughn, a 30-year-old from Carson, Calif., who sang background on “Glee” for six seasons, worked as a background singer for Brandy and Keri Hilson and was signed to Columbia Records at one point.

Ravaughn earned a challenge with a performance of Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry,” then performed Brandy’s “Have You Ever Been in Love” for the right to take a seat on The Four.

But Jason was equal to the challenge, turning in an spot-on performance of Sia’s “Titanium,” capped by an impressive glory note.

Sean “Diddy” Combs praised him for having a “special sound” and “potential.” And fans voted Jason the winner, though the margin was less than 1 percent, the show’s closest yet.

Perhaps most impressively, Jason apologized for some on-stage trash talk that took place on last week’s episode. “That’s not the best example of who I am as a person,” he said.

The night’s biggest shock was the elimination of Zhavia — not because her performances have been great — but because the panel seems so enamored with her.

Between team meetings, candle lighting and chants of “eat, eat, eat,” the dramatics on this show remain ridiculously over the top. And I’m hoping Meghan’s getting a fat paycheck, because I’m losing respect for her as an artist with each passing episode of this mess.

Anyway, here’s a photo recap. Just a reminder: The original four was gone within two episodes. Now everyone who won a spot on Week 1 has been eliminated as well.

As for Zhavia, she might be back next week. It’ll be comeback week on The Four. Fans can vote on Twitter to bring back one singer.
