Pip, Season Two Contestants, The Voice

Meet Pip of The Voice (Team Adam)

5

We were introduced to him simply as Pip when his blind audition was shown on The Voice back in mid-February.

His real name is Phillip Arnold. He’s 19, a 2010 graduate of Kennesaw Mountain High School in Georgia.

And besides a penchant for bowties and suspenders, he can belt out a pretty good version of “House of the Rising Sun.”

Good enough on The Voice to get all four judges to spin their chairs during that blind audition.

Pip comes from a musical family. His sister, Eileen got him involved in theatrical productions at an early age, according to a story on Kennesaw Patch.

In addition, his grandmother was a singer, his mother plays guitar and his father is a deejay.

Pip is also an Eagle Scout, and this isn’t his first try at a reality singing competition.

In 2010, he competed on Oxygen’s “Glee Project,” making it to the semifinals before being eliminated.

Because he’s young, Pip says people try to cast him in the Justin Bieber role, but he says he tries to be “more mature” in his song choice and his sound.

With four judges to choose from, Pip said he went with Adam for a couple of reasons. He turned around, and “he critiqued me, which I liked.”

You can follow Pip on his Facebook page and hear more of his music on his YouTube channel. On Twitter, he is @Pip_Andrew.

Below is Pip’s performance of “The House of the Rising Sun,” plus two other non-Voice performances.
