Jonboy Storey from The Voice Season 26

Season 26 premieres Monday, Sept. 23 with the coaching quartet of Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, Michael Buble and Snoop Dog.

Here’s more about Jonboy.

* He’s a country artist from Phenix City, Alabama, who’s already released music and developed a pretty impressive social media following.

* For instance, he has 25,000 followers on TikTok. And three songs with more than 75,000 streams on Spotify.

* Jonboy got interested in music in junior high school when he started playing guitar and performing in his church’s praise band.

* By high school, thanks in part to his dad’s influence, he’d transitioned to performing country music and began playing at parties and local restaurants around his home.

* Now in his mid-20s, he began releasing music, including six-song EP called “Mr. Heartbreaker,” in 2018.

* One of the songs from that EP, “Thank You for the Doubt,” remains one of his favorites among the songs he’s written.

* In a 2023 interview with TheLocalColumbus.com, Jonboy says the song was inspired by a high school wrestling coach who told him that, while he might enjoy performing music, he’d more likely be pounding nails into a house as an occupation.

* In the same inteview, Jonboy said he was working on an upcoming EP or album with the goal of including more upbeat songs.

* ““My dad started listening to a bunch of my songs, and told me that I’m a male version of Taylor Swift,” Jonbou said. “You always want to tell a story with a song, but we want to write something you can ride down the road and party to.”

* His latest release, a 2023 single “Good to Be Back” is a step in that direction. You can check out the music video below.
