Once again, American Idol has made judging changes heading into the new season. Gone are Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson. New to the panel is Harry Connick Jr. Returning to the panel are Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez, the latter after a one-year absence.
Looks like the American Idol album release calendar for the rest of 2013 is filling up nicely. The latest addition: Kellie Pickler plans to release her fourth album on Nov. 12, according to an article in The Rolling Stone.
American Idol broadened its search for the next superstar during Season 12 with a small-town bus tour. And, you’ll recall that Idol also launched something called “nominate an Idol” last year.

Lauren Alaina appeared on American Idol two years ago, but fans certainly haven’t forgotten. And many still insist she should have won Season 10, back when Scotty McCreery took the Idol crown and Lauren finished second. “I think she was better than Scotty.
