Danielle Bradbery has released the fourth song from her upcoming album.

Danielle Bradbery has released the song she says started the path to her long-awaited sophomore album.

The song is called “Potential,” and it’s the fourth track she’s dropped from that album, “I Don’t Believe We’ve Met.”

Earlier this week, Danielle posted a video to her Facebook page of the first live performance of “Potential.”

“It’s been a year and a half since this night,” she wrote. “A year and half since y’all met my open heart with open arms and we knew we had the start to what would be, ‘I Don’t Believe We’ve Met.’

“The reaction to ‘Potential’ was something I had never experienced. I felt you guys really connect to a song I had written and it was amazing.

“It took us months and multiple tries to get this one right, I’m so glad we did.”

“I Don’t Believe We’ve Met” is due out Dec. 1, and the title is a nod to Danielle’s growth as an artist since she won The Voice in the spring of 2013.

She was 16 when she auditioned for the show and 17 when she released her self-titled debut album, one on which she didn’t have a single writing credit.

In contrast, Danielle, now 21, is a co-writer on seven of the 10 tracks on the new album.

She wrote “Potential” with Emily Weisband and Johan Lindbrandt and says that process didn’t take all that long.

And though it wound up being the song that showed Danielle her potential as a songwriter, that’s not the meaning behind the song at all.

“We had this really great idea to write a song about (how) you’re in love with this person’s potential of what he or she could be,” she says in another Facebook video. “And I was like, ‘Okay, you’re amazing, so let’s just go with that’ and we wrote this passionate, heartfelt song that we really weren’t expecting to do that day.”

She said Big Machine label group founder Scott Borchetta loved the song immediately, and now it’s the second track on that upcoming album, squeezed between two other songs Danielle helped write, “Sway” and “What Are We Doing.”

The former is the album’s lead single, of course. The latter features an assist from country star Thomas Rhett.

“I Don’t Believe We’ve Met” is available for pre-order. Anyone doing so gets an immediate download of the four songs release so far, “Sway,” “Potential,” “Hello Summer” and “Human Diary.”

Danielle’s also released a video for each. You can check out the video for “Potential” below.

She also has a number of tour dates lined up this fall. You can check out all of them on that Facebook page.

In fact, she’ll be performing in Harrisburg tonight at the Bob 94.9 Boo Bash at Joe K’s Brewhouse, 3523 Union Deposit Road.

Tickets are just $5 with proceeds donated to St. Jude’s Hospital.
