her first album in four years due out Friday, Haley Reinhart set the stage this week by releasing the video for the lead single “Better.”

She describes the upbeat song as one with the message of realizing your self-worth.

“That’s one of the bigger messages that I like to send out through my music, going out to the younger generation of women,” she said in a just-published interview with FuseTV.

“I feel like I’ve grown up and faced my fair share of hardships in my own right, and it’s made me a lot stronger of a woman today. I follow my instincts, so I encourage everybody around me to do the same and to know their self-worth and not settle.”

Haley’s new album is also called “Better” and includes her cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” which became a chart hit thanks to an Extra gum commercial.

This marks the first album for Haley since her under-rated post-Idol debut “Listen Up” came out in May of 2012. It debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200, but stayed on that chart for only a month.

Haley says “Better” includes the favorite songs she’s collected over the four years in between.

The 25-year-old placed third on Season 10 of American Idol and is planning a summer tour in support of the new music.
