Juliet Simms planning solo post-Voice EP

Juliet SimmsSince finishing second on Season 2 of The Voice back in the spring of 2012, Juliet Simms has released a grand total of one single.

That’s about to change, folks.

She’s in the middle of a PledgeMusic campaign to fund a solo EP.

And it’s going pretty well. With 20 days remaining, Juliet has already reached 93 percent of her fundraising goal.

Six seasons into the show, Juliet still ranks as the top female rocker The Voice has showcased, which is saying something considering how good Kat Robichaud and Kat Perkins are.

It wasn’t only the memorable performances she delivered on the show. Remember those huge black wings she donned to sing “Cryin’?” Or that brilliant vocal on “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World?”

I mean, just listen to some of the pre-Voice music Juliet recorded as lead singer for Automatic Love Letter. Like “Black Ink Revenge” or “Butterflies” or “Make-up Smeared Eyes.”

The new EP will be called “All or Nothing” and Juliet is offering all sorts of goodies to folks who contribute to the effort. Heck, you can even snag one of her guitars. Or the ring she wore while singing “Man’s World” on The Voice.

best thing about making music this way?

“There will be no outside influence saying that the songs are not ‘radio’ enough, no one to tell me that the art I am making for my fans isn’t good enough or ‘pop’ enough,” Juliet says in her Pledge video.

No word yet on when the EP will be available, but pledgers are entitled to frequent updates.

Meanwhile, I’ve embedded the video Juliet released for that post-Voice single, “Wild Child.”

Head here for all the details on that PledgeMusic campaign.
