Laura Vivas, Season 3, The Voice

Meet Laura Vivas of Team Christina on The Voice

We only saw a few seconds of Laura Vivas’ blind audition on The Voice.

But, apparently, it was rather dramatic in that Christina spun around at the very last moment, giving her a spot on a team.

“I was so scared,” Laura, of West Palm Beach, Fla., later told Christina Milian. “I said all along that if Christina turned around, I’d lose my mind.”

She didn’t, of course, and she’s no stranger to the stage.

The native of Puerto Rico told The Voice coaches that she’s been performing professionally for eight years.

And on her website we learn that her career began at age 18 and that her vocal and dance skills have taken her to the Bahamas and Brazil for extended engagements.

Since 2007, the woman who performs as Laura V has been lead singer and the lone female in a six-piece South Florida cover band called Re-Mix.

Check out the song list on their website and you’ll find that they cover everything from Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” to Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats.”

One song not on that list: Adam Lambert’s “Whataya Want from Me,” which is the tune Laura wound up singing for her audition.

Other things we should know about Laura: According to that website bio, she played violin, French Horn and piano as a child. Under college on Facebook, and on her website, she writes: “Born with spontaneous intelligence.”

Asked by Christina Milian to reveal something about herself, Laura confessed to being “very goofy” and “quite a dork.”

As for those dance skills, yes, she can booty pop. And demonstrates the move for Christina.

Editor’s Note: Check back for live blogs once the battle rounds begin on The Voice.
