Update: During a Twitter Q&A on @MusicChoice on Friday, Pia Toscano said she released the two singles simultaneously because “I wanted share both the intimate and fun side of myself. ‘You’ll Be King’ was very therapeutic for me and ‘Pyro’ was soo much fun to record.”

And, yep, it sounds like there will be more music coming. Tweeted Pia in response to a question about what’s next for her: “releasing more music! And we have some great surprises on the way.”

As for Thursday night’s Idol finale, during which she was a guest performer: “It was honestly one of the best nights of my life. Reuniting with everyone was a blast.”

Have you heard the studio versions of those new songs? If not, they’re embedded below. Listen, then go download.

Original blog: Pia Toscano fans are rejoicing this week.

Not only will Pia perform on the American Idol finale Thursday night, she’s also releasing long-awaited new music that day.

She has a pair of new singles — “Pyro” and “You’ll Be King” — available for pre-order on iTunes. She performed the latter Tuesday for FOX11 in L.A. You can check it out at right.

Pia competed on Season 10 of American Idol. A perceived front-runner blessed with a killer voice and pop star looks, she was eliminated way too soon in the opinion of most Idol viewers.

Though she finished ninth, she was almost immediately signed by Interscope Records. But that union produced just one single.

In 2014, Pia announced she was working on an album with singer-songwriter Jared Lee as a pop duo called 7East. Again, just one single was released.

To date, the 27-year-old is probably best known as the national anthem good luck charm for the Los Angeles Kings during their Stanley Cup runs in 2012 and 2014.

Pia hopes that’s about to change and clearly appreciates the patience her fans have shown.

“I have been working really hard and I am very humbled to have the endless support from my amazing ‪#‎SweetPs!” she wrote Wednesday on Facebook.

She also posted a video of her days on Idol, writing: “Five years later, I’m stronger than ever and ready to reintroduce myself to the world!!”
