Hannah Nicolaisen of American Idol Season 21

Hannah Nicolaisen is among the singers who auditioned for Season 21 of American Idol.

American Idol returns to ABC on Sunday, Feb. 19 for its Season 21 premiere.

Here’s a bit more about Hannah.

* She’s from Houston, Texas and a graduate of Cypress Woods High School.

* Post-high school, she studied science, technology, engineering and mathematics at Cowley College in Kansas.

* She then studied exercise science at the University of Illinois Springfield, graduating in 2022. She also played volleyball there.

* According to her student profile, her non-music goals including coaching volleyball and pursuing a master’s degree in psychology.

* She performs live music in the Montgomery, Alabama, area.

* Hannah doesn’t appear to have released music yet, but has impressive originals — in the female singer-songwriter vein — on both YouTube and TikTok. Check out a song called “Chariot” below.

* In a recent one-minute life update on TikTok, she describes herself as a musician who quit her 9 to 5 job at an IT recruiter with “no guarantee of any success.”

* “I feel like I’m trying to trust my gut a lot. That’s been the theme of the last several months … There’s been some really cool doors and opportunities that have opened up,” she adds. Here’s betting one of those is Idol.

* And it appears lots has been happening with Hannah. She also recently got engaged, showing off a ring and a fiance in a December Instagram post.

* About that last name, Hannah explains on Instagram that it’s pronounced: “Nickel-Ice-Inn.”
